About company

Truss Design Build

Appalachian Truss designs, builds and delivers high quality floor and roof trusses, specialty hangers, fasteners and LVL’s (laminated veneer lumber) for the construction industry, local builder supply stores, architects and home designers.

Our Facility

A new facility was built in 2015 focusing on growing the business which consists of a 12,500 SF building (11,500 SF for manufacturing space and a 1,000 SF of office space), along with a new 1,700 SF lumber storage building.  There is ample space for the movement of materials and finished products along with the loading of the company delivery vehicles and the unloading of supply vehicles.

The company also recently purchased a truss component automated saw that will allow the business to take on even more of the available work without the necessity of bringing on additional personnel.

Floor trusses can span farther between bearing points than I-joists, allowing for larger open rooms. This also reduces the need and cost for extra bearing posts, beams, and footings. Floor trusses have built-in openings, which can be used to install HVAC ductwork, plumbing lines, and electrical wiring.

LVL Beams

Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) is an engineered wood product that uses multiple layers of thin wood assembled with adhesives. It is typically used for headers, beams, rimboard, and edge-forming material.

I-Joist

An engineered wood joist, more commonly known as an I-joist, is a product designed to eliminate problems that occur with conventional wood joists. Invented in 1969, the I-joist is an engineered wood product that has great strength in relation to its size and weight.
